Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso Release New Album 「Free Spirits」 Between Experimentation and Humor, Depicting 'Reset After Burnout'
Argentine duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso released their new full-length album 「Free Spirits」 on March 19th. The album is built on experimental sound that freely navigates trap, rock, and pop, capturing both the duo's uninhibited sense of humor and musical sophistication. Comprising 12 tracks, the LP features guest appearances from diverse artists including Sting, Fred again…, Anderson .Paak, and Jack Black.

The pair reached a significant career milestone in February this year, winning their first Grammy Award with the EP 「Papota」. The fatigue and pressure they subsequently experienced within a rapidly changing environment becomes the central theme of this album. In fact, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso established a fictional space called 'Free Spirits Wellness Center' as the album's concept. This 'wellness center,' led by Sting, is portrayed as a healing program facility for those working in extreme environments. The album unfolds around 12 stages of therapeutic process, yet its contents are filled with exaggerated settings far removed from reality. Art therapy accompanied by pain, treatment based on resetting the brain to its initial state, and extreme temperature contrast experiments all border on fictional devices.
This narrative approach transcends simple concept, embedding criticism of artist burnout following rapid success and the industry structure itself. Following their previous EP 「Papota」, in which they satirized the star system and image consumption, they reveal in this work that even 'healing' can be merely a performance. Since their 2024 Tiny Desk Concert, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso have rapidly heightened their global recognition and consistently contorted the music industry through unpredictable moves and sharp perspective.
「Free Spirits」, as an extension of this trajectory, unfolds the confusion and fatigue following success, and the process of rediscovering direction within it, in the most exaggerated manner possible.
